Wherever you all are having your Thanksgiving festivities, I hope there is someone there that you can swap some hunting and shooting lies, I mean some hunting and shooting stories with. I won't, and it makes for a long afternoon.I think I'll go put a new flint, (if I have any) in my smokepole to get ready for Saturdays opener.
-
Tom,
I have had many flint shooters tell me that the advantage of flintlocks over percussion guns is that you can just pick up something that will spark out of a streambed.
Well, if'n you can't find one, get on down to the creek and start looking.
Easy, peasy.
Well, Ms Smoke's family is over for the festivities, so there is not much chance of hunting and shooting conversations going on. The bro-in-law did mention watching football this afternoon. I think I will work in the yard or somethign.

Might have to do that John. We were to go to my brother-in-laws for dinner, but plans got changed. Will be staying home now, and I don't think the wife wants to talk about hunting or shooting. Whatever you do, or wherever you go, I'm sure you find something to give Thanks for. Just don't work too hard.

Well, here it is, the Friday after. Missed all your well-wishes for Thanksgiving and I apologize.
We had the senior cat (14 y.o.) at the OSU vet center for running a scope down his throat as well as the other end to see why he is vomiting so often, plus losing weight. Dropped him off Tuesday morning, picked him up Wednesday at 5:00 (1700 hours for you military types). It's an 1 1/2 hour drive to get there plus the return journey and I didn't feel up to computering after that. Then Thursday was baking, cooking, clean up etc. day. The youngest boy was going to come here if I gave him a ride but decided at the last moment that he didn't want to put me through the stress of a 15 minute drive to his place so he cancelled. Thanks kid! Broiled a chicken, with mashed potatoes and peas & carrots on the side, a piece of pumpkin pie after. It turned out okay although the bird was a pit dry.
I hope all of you had a great day and gave proper thanks for all you have been blessed with!
