Kevin, I'm not sure I would want to work anywhere they don't let you do that.
I found it amusing that one day long ago I visited with my friend Butch Winter at Dixie Gun Works. They have this huge warehouse and at night after everyone has gone home, they do their tests inside. The backstop is a large pile of old Dixie catalogs and shooting across the warehouse they have at least a 100' range. I forget the exact distance. If it's good enough for DGW, it should be good enough for where you work.
In the early 1980's, I was the accountant at the aluminum factory there by the Hayden Airport. After work, some of us would gather alongside the foundry building and do some shooting. If it was raining or snowing, we would stand inside and shoot out toward the west. That was kinda fun. Encroaching civilization rather put an end to that. Ahhhh, progress. Not.

I suppose I'm missing something obvious, but where are the targets that I can get printed?

They're in the April Postal Match thread - https://tradmla.org/tmaf/index.php?topic=28038.msg248932#msg248932

I have copies of the bullseye target made. But I can't get the link to work either. Did you get it yet Jim.

You mean the IRS rats target? Just download the image right off the post then print it.
-
When I tap on the link for the bullseye target, it doesn't come up. The IRS target is there waiting to be printed. I have extra copies of the bullseye target made. But I now see why Jim couldn't get it.

Left mouse click works for me ... ??

I have the target ready now. Just the bullseye one but that's enough for a start anyway. A friend printed one and I made a few more at the library. My next challenge will be to send it in somehow. I know how to take a picture with my cell phone and email the picture, but I have no clue how to get it on the forum. Maybe I'll figure it out by then. I hate computers, but I like some of the things they do for us, maybe that's why I don't even try to learn much about them.
The weather here is finally getting better, if the wind would stop and we get a day in the fifties I will give it a try with my 36 mule ear rifle.

Well buddy you're making progress. That's a step in the right direction. I can relate to everything you've said about computers. Back when these postal shoots started, Ohio Joe was the NMD, and he would send me targets so I could participate. So there are people out there can help you if you can find them. If you shoot your target, score it, and e-mail a picture of it, I'd gladly send a picture in for you. No guarantees, but I think I'm capable of doing that.
-
Hi nopowder - thanks and I'll take you up on that. I shot it today and have a picture of the target on my phone. I didn't do great, but that way there's room for improvement!
I'll send you an email with the picture - that much I can accomplish.
-
By golly Jim you did just a fine job of shooting and also getting me a picture of your target. And miracles will never cease, I did done got it sent in. You get your friend to make you a rat target and shoot it, and send a picture of it and we'll get that one sent in also. Thanks for joining in.
