I've been waiting 6 months to see postal shoot targets. Thanks Kevin. Looks as though the auction gun is working quite well.

I'd say so, I did have a couple full cock to half cock trigger pulls.
There's no fly so I think I was trying to creep up on tripping the sear rather than giving it a good squeeze..
 Operator error I assume.
I think the main spring may be a bit on the weaker side also, had one or two hammer strikes without firing off the cap.
all in all I'm fairly satisfied.

Sometimes those misfires can cause a guy to be a little flinchy. Thank goodness in your case it didn't happen. Now you have to wait a whole month to shoot targets again.

Well here?s my entry for the bullseye. Not bad since my front sight came loose in the dovetail notch, lost the elevation screw in my rear sight and broke my brass range rod.
Haven?t got up the courage to shoot the rats. Got to do some sight maintenance.

Well.. It was a rough day in western Nebraska  ;D All calm when we left town and by the time we reached the farm it was 25+mph constantly.
Took some VW wheel and tires out to mount them on a friend's machine so I decided it would be a good day to load in the muzzleloader and the little one brought her bb gun along. Didn't take too long to realize it was a mistake, but I'm stubborn so I tried anyhow!
Wind was bad enough I couldn't hide on either side of the truck to shoot, so I just tried to lean into it. No fun. Then I dropped my target and had to run 300 yards across the prairie dog town too catch it  :D :D
Was shooting the little 45 Marty built. I love the gun, and it shoots great for me.
Not great scoring today, but still a dead deer or saved my scalp if I needed!

Glad you got er done Joe. But I wish you would have had more favorable conditions. If I'm shooting my targets, and the wind is blowing the end of my 6-8# gun barrel around, I just wave the white flag and give up. Still shot ok bud. Maybe Nessmuk will give you some handicap points for running 300 yards to get your target. I bet Marty is glad you were using that rifle. Don't hold your breath on those handicap points. Nessmuk is a nice guy, but don't know if he's that nice.
Good pictures too. I like your shooting bag.

It was fun getting out no matter what. I'm ready to smoke a Turkey now though. And I wish the wind was blowing my barrel around, but I'm wide enough it was swaying me like a sail, even with a good stance haha. Some days ya shoot 10s and sometimes you better just be glad you hit the side of the barn!

Hey Joe, you do know that since we tied on the rat target, we have to arm wrestle now right.

We even hit the same one! I guess we can do that. Come on up to rendezvous in July and we can tussle!

Tom, Finally, someone got honest X's.  And three of them to boot.  Great shooting, my friend!!!
I still scoff at this break the line and you get the higher point silliness.  It oughta be the whole ball needs to be in the scoring ring to count, else it's just welfare.  But, that's just me.
Still waiting for things to settle down so I have some time to get out to the now open range and do some sighting in.  Hope I can do it this week.  I guess i will know by Saturday if it will happen or not.
Stay tuned, folks.
John

I was all excited when I heard you might be able to join us postal shooters. I really hope that shooting range opening becomes a reality. If you are able to shoot the targets, I hope you do much better on the rat target than I did. When I hit the first rat I shot at, I was happy. After missing the next 4, I was very unhappy. And on top of that, I used the same gun to shoot both targets. Can't quite figure that out. I have another rat target. Maybe it will follow me to the range and I'll shoot it again using a different gun.

Well I said the rat target might follow me to the range the next time I go. I went and it did follow me. This time I had only a few more points. So I give up. Good target Nessmuk. My hat's off to Kevin. He did a good job on that target.
