This is a poll to see how most of you found your way to the TMA forum. This will help the Board of Directors know where to focus our efforts in obtaining more members.
-
Howdy hawkeye,
I found it by seaching traditional muzzleloading.I'm not a member but I will be seeing one this weekend and will sign up with him.Are you going to make the Oakland County rendevous this weekend?
Regimental coat? contact Judy Morgan at Kenokee traders

I selected another forum. I saw a person profile on another forum and he wrote somthing about the TMA, so then I googled it.
-
I was just going link to link looking up muzzle loading info and chanced on it.Glad it was raining that day
-
Got it when it was still part of the MLF.
-
Ol' Gates Co. Freetrapper had info at a rondy we always go to. I hope he some more of those flyers. I printed up about 5 or 6 extra membership forms to take down(while I was printing up a renewal form)
-
I was asking about Métis coats on h-voyageur, a yahoo group. Sombody on there told me they were talking about them on another forum... TMA. So I joined. Great day for me, sad day for TMA :P :lol
-
Howdy hawkeye,
.Are you going to make the Oakland County rendevous this weekend?
My Mistake not this weekend,May 18 19 20
-
I believe I came across the TMA through a link posted on the Campfire Forums.
-
I am thinking that I found it through a search looking for Ol' Stumblin' Buffler. It was an exercise in frustration getting onto the board, as between my ineptness with this spawn of the devil and whatever hoops I had to jump through, it took forever to get signed on. In retrospect, it was well worth the trouble.
-
Puffer done it to me!!!
-
Stumbled on it thru a search engine
-
I found the TMA while doing research to re-start my period clothing business. I was surfing a lot of sites, glancing through them, really. Then I hit the TMA board and all of a sudden two hours had gone by and I was still reading. Joined that day and have never had one minute's regret. Best forum and best people on the net.
-
halfdan,
I wish everyone saw us as that easy to understand. It's about the
past. Although I live in the present, there is not a day goes by I don't think about past parts of history.

It was mentioned over on ML magazine's Campfire board so I came over and took a peek...and never left...
-
That old Pusher Puffer dangled the carrot infront of me, looked at it took a bite a all of a sudden I NEEDED more! sent my 25 bux for a charter membership in the next day, glad I did it that mext day, there we're only 6 charter memberships left!
-
I had been watching it develope back when it was a gleam in a few folks eyes on the MLF and saw it mentioned again a while back and stopped in to see how the forum looked.
-
Well, I joined up back in the dark ages when we were meeting/talking on another forum. Mighty glad I did...I've met some real fine folks here ;)
Al
-
I saw the add in Muzzleloader Magazine and came to checkout the forum and the organization. I was hooked immediately

I remember that door....double lock, with two keys, and I could never find mine........what a mess!
But, none the less, I am still thankful for that, it got us standing on our own hind legs! :rt th

my side is much the same as russ
-
My story is pretty much the same as Two Steps, Jon and Swampfox.
-
Saw it in Muzzle Loader Magazine.
-
I found it, reading a topic response by Roundball in another forum.
Since then, I rarely am in other so-called traditional muzzle-loading web pages.
-
Puffer done it to me!!!
X2!

I found the Forum because I was the one that created the first one that locked out good ole uncle Russ. Never let a security guy provide a service and expect usability! Well the rest is history. Good poll though, hopefully provides some useful insights.
-
A friend recommended I check it out. Glad he did.
Mike
-
i was brought here by my ol` friend mr.snake best trip i ever took liked it so well i just stayed.
-
Pitchy told me about it so.....................BLAME HIM!!!!!!!!
-
I met Beaverman at Sequim Wa. Rondy.
-
I was guided here in a round about way from another forum I belong to. I was looking for a website where I could find more information on flintlock rifles, and the things involved with blackpowder shooting.
I definately found what I was looking for, great information, and a great bunch of people willing to give answers to questions from a new person to the sport.
-
Was on here right after the storm, and couldn't wait to get here. I still post much on that other forum, but I am trying to tangle with this one more and more!
I think I will be cutting a check for membership very soon
-
I found the TMA just doing a search one day on traditional muzzleloading. I sure am glad I did!
-
I think I will be cutting a check for membership very soon
That would be just great. Welcome to you.........

One of the guys told me about starting this one up back in 05 along with a magazine they were starting as well. Well, got off track for a while coming back stateside and then turning around and heading over to Korea for a year and all. Even sent me the first idea for the symbol and all as well.
-
we have never had a magazine flyfisher .
we did try and suport one one time but that didnt work out for anyone .
we do have the TMA journal which gets better with each issue .
however its avalable only on the internet for members

GREAT!:shake
A very hardy welcome from a fellow Washingtonian.
If I'm not mistaken, the credit for that link should go to our good friends Puffer and Beaverman.
Uncle Russ...
-
Been here since the beginning. Most of the powers at be are from west of the Mississippi, but I'll stick to my roots and birthplace of the long rifle.
-
I guess, I've been here since "before day 1". :hey-hey
Thanks RussB, Ohio Joe, Captchee, and SSE,... for returning my emails.
...., and a "VERY SPEACIAL THANK YOU,"... goes up to Longknife (Dave Poss) who is patiently waiting for all the rest of us (in the TMA), at the eternal campfire.

I had kind of lost interest in muzzleloading for a few years and now I'm retired and want to travel some and start shooting BP again so I Googled muzzleloading clubs and ran across TMA, liked what I saw and joined up right away. :)
-
I found the TMA through BEAVERMAN'S signature on the HORNERS BENCH. I came to the website and liked what I saw and decided to join right up.
-
I found it through search engine searches while looking for muzzleloading sites for my research. I didn't delay in joining, as I knew I found the place.
-
I was lookin' online for a place to learn about muzzleloaders since I now have an interest in them.
So......someone left the door open and I stumbled right in an sat down!
-
With some difficulty.
I did a search for traditional muzzleloading and your site came up.
FWIW, this:
"TMA Forum
Proceed to the TMA Forum"
Doesn't look like a way in. The link "Proceed to the TMA Forum" needs to be more prominent. Make it into a button, or change the color, or all caps, or something. It really isn't all that obvious. For the most part it looks like a page title, and it wasn't until I moused over it that it became apparent that it's a link.
-
Thanks for your input,... definitely something to consider.
-
Found it using Google. Glad I did.

Boy this thread started way back when..... lots of names on it that we see no longer. Some have passed
and some just seemed to have dropped out. I am still thankful that I got to know them and much
appreciated the input on so many good topics. This forum has always been open to good and relevant topics,
and the moderators and BOD have improved the format also. Keep up the good work - I am quite busy nowdays
but drop in as often as possible - don't yak as much as I used to

The stuff in that "Mason Jar" was a special batch of con-vincer, that had been properly made, stilled and aged.... it convinced you right on the spot that you were doing the right thing by joining-up, and you did, and they danced and danced, and everybody lived happy thereafter....gotta love those Mason Jars :rotf
I remember those times, good times indeed!

That was one special night.Talking about those southern things.Poor Jack didn't get to sleep that night. The boy kick me out of the room and put me in the big room.
-
never was a "joiner" I had been on other forums.... but only the last several years or so..... I never was big on spending my time typing into these things as all of my time at work is on line - this gets to be like work for me - but I see the need to promote muzzle loading, every aspect, so I looked -
here I am..... kinda like that
-
Well we're all glad you're here hawkthrower
-
Wow, none of the options apply for me. As I said in my introduction, I got the TMA group recommended to me by Facebook, asked Riely if I could join, then found the website and the forum.

Wonko,
Riley is a good man to listen to in these parts, and we are :shake [/color]

I picked recommended in person but that was the second introduction to the site. I found it first on google while searching for information on period correct flintlocks for 1790 -1810. Looked at it but didn't join then.
Joined after VEDearduff talked me into it. Been making and shooting caplocks since the early 1970's. Just got into flintlock. I did buy a paid membership yesterday. Looks like the site doesn't automatically update that. I will have to wait for that to show up.
