 Little more progress.
Narrowing the throat and paneling the spout with a small lip at the tip
If I don't screw it up.

Gotcha!!
Them's some good looking horns there.
Glad you like them.
Good looking critter as well.
And that's a great old lock, too.
That grouping really tells a lot of stories, eh?
I once had a buffalo skull that I had mounted, but when we moved south, I had to get rid of it.  I just know there would be a shortage of wall space.  I brought the hair on hide with me, but sold it later.  Oh well...

That part about hanging em on a wall and that's as far as it goes ain't gonna cut the mustard here John. They're hanging on the buck horns and they have and continue to be used. But you'll probably never run into me while I'm using them. [ Invalid Attachment ]

Good looking little horn there John.  I have several of your horns and like them all. :bl th up

Isn't that a coincidence, I have several of my horns as well.

The interesting thing is that I have attended muzzleloading events all over the country and I hardly ever have seen one of my horns in use.  And it's not that I haven't made a bunch of them.  I just think that people hang them up on the wall and that's as far as it goes.

Well, finally I got to work in the shop yesterday and finished up this little horn.  It's only taken me months to get around to it.
The horn is a left side carry and it's almost 11" on the bottom curve and about 2 1/4" in diameter at the base.
The maple baseplug is secured with eight hardwood 1/8" dowels.  The lathe turned baseplug features 5 decorative grooves and a ring swivel.

Hey Eric, have you heard anything about your postal shoot gun? Regarding the barrel and sights.
