If you use a sling; what type/kind and do you have a picture?

I use carrying straps on all my cartridge rifles.  I tried a sling on my T-C Hawken about twenty years ago.  I had one that tied around the stock and fore end.  It worked well enough for carrying but a caplock doesn't  do well when carried with a sling in my experience.  My rifle shed caps like a long haired dog sheds hair.  Every time I unslung and tried to shoot, it seemed as if the cap had gone south, so I gave the sling away.  End of problem.

A friend had the swivel set which screws into the stock and one of the rod pipes on his Renegade.  He, too scattered caps about the woods with gay abandon.

You have good taste Ron ! I see you have the same sling as I have on my L/hand Jeager, and the same possibles bag !

Have any of you heard of a 'Ranger' or modified ranger sling?

I bought this kit at a gunshow for a pattern, as I
would like to weave a strap for a rifle.

This is the only "slung" rifle I have, obviously a military style.

Using the sling swivel and button swivel fom track,here's how I did my smoothie.
I drille a same size hole as the swivel through the stock and barrel  lug.

This one I just drilled an undersize hole in the stock for the button to screw into.

I was furtunate to have a friend do the leatherwork on the sash/sling

Thanks for the input and the pictures so far.
Daring to venture in to the realm of not being PC but of being functional has anyone heard of or know of a Ranger or modified Ranger sling?
You may have seen or know of this under another name/type.

my wife uses an around-the barrel and around-the-butt sling on her 8-pound, 12-ounce Lyman Trade Rifle

kind of ugly, not pc, so far as I know, but wow - talk about handy.

two seasons ago, she shot 2 deer within half an hour or so of one another. naturally i was drafted to help drag them out. with a shoulder-style drag rope harness and her rifle slung on my back, I was able to carry my slingless rifle and some of her extra gear in my hands - a real time and effort-saver

unfortunately, the sling is so thick, even if i wanted to use it, it would completely obscure my short primitive sights
