Crockett's Camp longhunter Society

I came from a meeting of the local history museum and came out with
enough members to start a local organization that I have dreamed of for some time. The Crockett's Camp Longhunter Society was born with a half dozen members right out of the gate! We decided that as our first project, we would try to help put together a display for the museum about Robert Crockett who was killed in our county about 1796.

Sounds like a neat idea for a group, and very kind of you to provide a receipt, but unless you are incorporated as a 501(c)3 charitable organization [for education in your case ]  then the receipt is pointless, as it isn't deductable unless you are such..., and if it isn't deductible then there's no reason for the receipt.  You might want to hurry as the fees to file as such a group go up January 3rd, 2010.  

Are you folks open to additional members and if so how does one go about getting information?

Thanks Dave. I know about all the legal mumbo jumbo. My reason for the receipt would be just to let you know that we are on the up and up and honestly wanting to do a good deed for history. Truthfully we are brand new and probably will be a small group. We won't be soliciting any monies just trying to put together a museum exhibit in the county where Crockett died.

Well we had a meeting this morning at the history museum. We are dedicated to a display but we may go a different direction. Main thing is Crockett will be remembered in our community!

Sir, we are a work in progress. We will be having our second monthly meeting this month. Our story started in 1763 with the death of Crockett. We are so excited about the interest and number of new members we are recieving.

saturday is opening day of squirrel season here in Tennessee. Crocketts camp members are planning on meeting at daylight for a campfire breakfast, then disperse into  the anchient cherokee hunting lands to search for squirrels with our flinters. Wish us luck!

Well we have been on the hunt now for a year. Good core group
participating in events. WE have plans cooking for a big event in 2011.
Standing Stone Park in Livingston Tenn will host the "Robert Crockett
Longhunter Festival" Good times!

By the way, you and I have met.  You came to the Indiana Bowhunter Association's rendezvous/3D shoot in Farmland, IN years ago and sang for us.  Met ya there and had a great time listening to your music.  Hope you're doing well.
