Flint question for a 1816 Harpers Ferry

Hi, I am knew here and the new owner of a Harpers Ferry 1816 Model in original Flint configuration. Unfortinitley the barrel has been hacked 5 inches and the stock cut back. Too bad it is in great shape otherwise.

Anyway I want to shoot it and need advice on what size flint to order. Whats a good brand and where to buy them at. Some basic installation tips would be great too.

Thanks, they have em. Still not sure on the dimension though so do not know what size to order..

At Track,check the info on the HF lock or just measure the width of the frizzed on yours.
3/4x7/8 is the call out for flint on the 1803 HF. 3/4 being the width I believe.

My Frizzen is 1 inch wide. Looks like when the hammer is at half cock and the frizzen down I have approximitley a 1 1/8 in gap to the frizzen. If any of that helps.

Hopefully somone may come along that actually shoots a 1816 and let us know for sure what works for them..Thanks

if your frizzen is 1 inch wide , then you need a 1 inch wide flint .
 being 1 1/8 at the half cock then your looking for a 1 to 1 1/8 long flint .
 myself i would go the short 1  inch and move the flint out alittle . if you go with the 1 1/8 , you may have to notch out the back of the flint alittle so as to move it back .
 really neather  size will be a problem as  through the life of the flint, your going to be slowly moving it forward anyway

I ordered (3) 1x 1 1/8 long ones. And (3) 1 1/8x 1 1/4 Fuller ones.  They said that would be appropriate for a 1816 and just see which ones work best. We will see I guess..My frizzen is 1 inch wide but plenty of clearance if its a little wide.. Thanks
