Maxi Ball open top CB

A friend of mine wants to try my idea of shooting a maxi ball in his open top Colt Army reproduction steel frame revolver. We have another friend of ours expressed concern over firing these bullets in an open top revolver. Does anybody have any experience doing this?

not sure about maxi-balls, but lee and lyman both make moulds for C&B pistol conical bullets. Mine is a .457 and I believe the weight is around 220 grains.
