My first attempt
« on: August 01, 2010, 05:21:10 PM »
I did all but the blade.

Inner lining is leather and the outer is Elk Rawhide. Stitched with waxed thread.

I know I messed the tang position up, but I could not replace the metal.

I really enjoyed making the sheath and I learned quite a bit with this one.

Thanks LRB!

I have not "aged" anything but the handle.

Wondering what is the best method of protecting everything from the wet?

I used a two part epoxy to attach the handle.
Lesson learned.....It heats up bone real quick!

I am looking forward to my next foray.

I don't use anything, but Chuck Burrows coats his with real spar varnish. I intend to give it a try on my next.
