New sheath for my bowie
« on: January 04, 2013, 02:45:45 PM »
My first attempt at making a sheath. I copied the original sheath which was rotted. Bought knife at a yardsale for $5.00  Knife obviously made in India, but it will do. Used copper nails to hold it together while I stitched, only stabbed myself onct. Have to get one of those groover tools for the stitches to lie in AND a @^%$*&()+^^%$ leather vise so I don't ventilate my body parts eenymore! I know it's cluttsy, but fun to do, more better next time.  ;)P82A0036.JPG[/attachment:3iqvpegf]P82A0034.JPG[/attachment:3iqvpegf] Made this from an english saddle I bought, nice thick leather fenders.
