What type? the most common hat worn during the RMFT era was a low crown wide brim hat made of wooll or fur felt (fur is best) in black, drab, or white/natural.....

Thanks, that's a start...I may make a cameo appearance at a rondy later in the summer and need something suitable.  Think I'm familiar with the hat you describe, and will have one eventually, but would like any other ideas as well...

Dead critter? Or a wolf-ear hood - Best bet would be the wide brim low crown felt job though.... Might find one at a rondy - I think Crazy Crow has 'em as well....

I'd like to see as many options as possible...plus, any thoughts from the guys in the know on the one shown...animal version may come later.

Actually, the one I like the most is the one I don't think you can buy anywhere.  It's the one that has the appearance of wolf ears, with flaps coming down over the ears.  I'll have to see if I can find someone to put one together sometime.

I just made a wolf ear hood this week. Used an old wool Navy blanket, pattern from the Sketchbook, and took half an hour to sew using a blanket stitch. Tried it out on the dogs...........they did not recognize me, and the younger one went on attack.  The ears obviously work as a  disguise. I will try it hunting this fall.

Yeah, my guess it's a cold weather option.  I'd love to see a picture of it, preferably parked on yer head...

Here are the first two Wolf Head Hoods from last week. The grey one, and first is from a felted wool blend disaster blanket, whilst the second is from an old Navy wool blanket. I do not normally look this serious..must be from holding the camera, and taking my own photograph.
