16 Bore Over/Under Howdah Pistol
« on: August 10, 2015, 10:22:59 PM »
I know it's been a while since I posted a new project, that's because I've mostly been building things that are similar to projects I've already posted so there was no sense in reposting the same stuff. Finally though I have a new project to post.

This is a semi-close reproduction of a 16 Bore Over/Under D. Egg Howdah Pistol.

If you'd like to see how it was made please watch the video below.

Thanks for looking.

Riley-Here it is, just what you need for your birthday.
Colin, that is sweet.  Wondering why you went for the over/under configuration instead of s/s?
What kind of load you thinking on it?  No doubt, it's smoothbore?
I would think the right lock is for the top barrel?

John,
Thank you.

It's for a customer and he provided the pictures of the original, so it's O/U cause the man with the money gets to decide.
I have it regulated for a 50gr FFg load at 30feet, but since it's truly designed to be used as a last resort against Tiger that leap onto your Elephant, you could really load it up as much as you wanted because it will still be accurate enough at Howdah Basket length.

It has rifled barrels.

Correct the Right lock is top and the left is bottom. Front trigger works top/right and back trigger works bottom/left.
