Weather - Whether we like it or not...

Yesterday, and at least 10 days prior to yesterday, when afternoon rolled around I was working in a t-shirt.

Today,,, I worked in a t-shirt, shirt, sweat shirt with hood, and jacket with hood! Our weather (as is typical here in northwest Nebraska) can change in a wink of an eye. Cold with wet slippery snow and wind...

Well, at least I knew it was coming as it does every year, but I'd just as soon it would be clear, calm, and 68 degrees every day of the year with some rain to keep water levels up. Now that's not to much ask.  :shock:

It hasn't rained here in 3 months; 8 months back we were in flood conditions all across north Louisiana! The ground is so hard the Armadillo are standing in line at the welfare office! Try 80F on for a few days.....summer never has left us!!

Supposed to get down to 21 degrees here on the northern Kansas Plains tomorrow night,.... and I'm not quite ready for that yet.

I thought that picture that was posted not to long ago of Louisiana, it looked awful dry.

That wind, it is the worst, and just makes everything more miserable. It can also take five inches of snow like we got last night and turn it into 16 to 24 inch snow drifts on my side walks...

That snow shoveling thing is a real problem, especially as our teeth start to lengthen.

It's a wonderful fact that since we moved down to the central CA coast from Idaho 10 1/2 years ago, I have not required my snow shovel one time.  Anticipating that, I gave it away before we left.  One of the few blessings I can see living here in LaLaLand.

Yes sir, John. I would agree completely with that shoveling of snow! I never use to mind it very much but now what use to take me 15 to 30 minutes has turned into an hour plus... At least the sun is shining now, that's a small victory.

Happened real quick here. But yat-ta-hay, it's mid November and Mr. winter can visit as early as late September, first of October.....one of those deals where the weather has been so nice for so long it just wasn't expected when it did happen.

The high yesterday in North Tejas was about 85 deg. Over night a front blew in and the rain fell for a little while.Now its 59 deg with a 20 mph hour wind blowing. Supposed to be in the low 30's for lows this weekend. But the sun will be shining!

I'm really hoping that we don't have our annual 1/2"+ or ice this winter come January or February. Id rather have 3 feet of snow to 1/2" of hard ice.

It was 76* and sunny here today. I took the day off and went for a 200 mile bike ride through the country. Glorious day. Supposed to be a rain/snow mix tomorrow night.
