?T. Ketland & Co. Blanket Gun
?.63 Caliber Percussion
 ?9" Brass Barrel, smoothbore
?Bears the Liege 1811-1892 Black Powder Proof for Rifles, and the Birmingham 1868-1925 Definitive Black Powder Proof for Shotguns
?Condition is Antique, Fair. Assorted cracks, replacement screws, etc. However, the value of this gun lies in its' history, having come out of the North Dakota Indian reservation, home of the Mandan, Hidatsa, Arikara Sioux, and Chippewa  tribes. The STT 75 Stamp show it coming from the Steele Trading Post there. The gun is decorated lightly with two brass tacks, and one light blue bead inlaid into the stock at the pistol grip, just behind the lock plate. Guns cut like this were carried in blanket covers on horseback, to hunt buffalo. This particular gun escaped the confiscation of Indian arms after the Little Big Horn battle. Information on Steele Trading post stamp courtesy of North Dakota Historical Society.
