Gentlemen  I  have just finished reading a very good book that I HIGHLY recommend! The Battle of New Orleans has always held some fascination to me as a Louisiana native. This book explains everything that happens leading up to, during and after the famous battles.
The book is entitled "Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans" written by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yeager. Lots of great resources and factual material in a well written book.

I was fortunate enough to be walking past our local library and there was a book sale going on, so I got my copy for $1.00.

Certainly sounds like a very good book.  :hairy

I must shamefully admit that I have so many books I've picked up over the years with the intentions of reading them - but never have been able to find the time. Maybe since I'm retired now I can set a'side some time each week for some good reading in the morning. Heck, I still wake up at 4:30 ish AM every morning - so maybe some reading after the coffee is ready at least for an hour.

Thanks for the heads up Spotted Bull on that fine book you read.  :hairy

I missed such a sale at the Library just last week.
Big sign out front, couldn't miss it.
I promised myself to stop on my way back but I came back a different way and forgot all about it until you guys just mentioned it.

Spotted Bull, I have not read the book you mentioned.
However, Brian Kilmeade is one of my favorite writers and people.
I just recently saw him on the Fox channel and, if I'm not mistaken, he was talking about your book.
He has also written several other books including George Washington's Secret Six: The Spy, and a book on Thomas Jefferson's battle on Tripoli, our first encounter with the Muslims on the North African Coast in 1802,...... I have that book in soft cover....

You're right, his historical writings, IMO, are very accurate and are backed up by his many references.

It's the many things we don't do that totally sets us apart.

RollingB might still be low-tech, do audio books still offer cassette tapes?

Just kidding, we only pick on folks we like a lot. Right, Bull?
