Al, I was in a very old saloon once. It had a dirt floor, couple of tables, pool table, and you could belly up to the bar if'n you wanted to. It was out in the middle of no where in the countryside around Hutchinson, Kansas. This was back in '75... Had a 3 day weekend "compliments of Uncle Sam" and ol' Johnny Nickels from the motor pool wanted to know if I wanted to go home with him and help his Ma & Pa work some cattle? Well I did, and after that we drove around in the Kansas countryside and pulled up in front of an old (and I mean old) board building in the trees & weeds and it was honestly, an old Saloon... Why there was old war lances, war bonnets, rifles, revolvers, swords, a hanging on the wall - it was just the most interesting place I ever been in. The beer was good, but they didn't do hair that I can recall...  :toast :laffing

There is a saloon over in New Mexico called "The Middle of Nowhere Saloon".  Maybe Russ has been by there...

Come to think about it, that place in Kansas might of had some hair hanging on the walls next to some of those war lances.

If'n they did do hair I reckon I'd a been a challenge for 'em with my stubble wheat field hair cut I was a gettin' religiously
at the PX... Heck, my mustache hair was longer then what was on top my head... :laffing

Jappaning? I had to check that out. Funny name for oriental lacquer painting. In 1813 I  guess you called'em as you saw'em.

I enjoyed the one on guns until my eyes gave out...gotta go back to that one on the computer where I can see it better.
