I have been trying for several days now to get in in touch with Ray, ie OldeTexian...
I have tried writing and calling. (His Mail Box is full and can't accept new Messages)

He hasn't been on the forum since the afternoon of 10 Aug., this is very unusual and out of character for him.

If anyone should have any knowledge of Ray, where he might be, and if he's okay, please contact us.

Sorry for being so out of touch...I am now in South Africa, but will be back home by Labor Day. I have not had Internet for a big part of the trip while in the bush.

It is my bride's first trip to Africa so we have done eight separate game drives. She has now seen the entire Big Five...as well as Penguins and even whales...

Again, sorry for being hard to contact, but should be online everyday now until return.

Not necessarily anything I participated in, but a pretty good story just the same.

Well, I am "Officially" back home, now. Got here bout 3 days ago and finally getting back into the routine...

Had a bout of stupidity while in Africa. Three days before the trip was over I had a fall in our hotel. Caught my left elbow a right good smack on my nightstand. Also got my lower back as well, but not so bad. Actually had to go to the doctor as the elbow an lower arm was badly swollen and solid purple from above elbow down to my wrist...wife was sure I had broken sumthing or at least had chipped a bone. Doctor took x-rays and said it was just a severe hematoma.

I asked her if that was a Latin word for mark of stupidity, and she just smiled and said I was lucky it wasn't much worse.

I did all my shooting in Africa with my camera. Don't have the big $$$ to hunt with bullets or round ball. And, I have never been a trophy hunter...BUT...it was still one unbelievable experience. I will do a tell-all in an Safari Post.

Anyway, good to be back!
