New rawhide knife sheath
« on: May 30, 2020, 10:26:22 PM »
I just finished this rawhide (w/veg tanned liner) sheath for a knife I bought two weeks ago.
The knife has a 4 5/8" forged blade, with a deer leg bone handle.

I'm not sure yet if I'll put a neck lanyard on the sheath, or, attach it to the strap of one of my shootin' bags

Good looking rig Rondo. Knife dimensions? I think I would go with the bag strap.

Very nice construction. Really good looking knife too. I'd go bag strap too.

Thanks for the comments fellas, and I tend to agree with you.  :bl th up

The only problem with attaching the sheath to a bag strap is,.... I have 5 shootin' bags.

Unless I make 4 more sheaths and attach each sheath to a bag, the knife will only see limited use.

But,.... if I use it as a neck knife, it won't matter which shootin' bag I'm using.  :bl th up

I've turned to this same thought process with my powder horns,.... I used to have a horn attached to each bag, but find it handier to just have one horn for FFG, and another for FFFG.  :bl th up

Such simple solutions are often difficult to see.
You need more knives.

Just saw this sheath and luv it. It is a perfect mate for the knife...and I can see both of 'em on a bag strap, or even the bag itself....wish I could do work like this... :hairy
