Reposting old threads that were lost after the forum cleanup from broken threads or lost pics from photobucket, here's an early build from 10 or so years ago. Maybe some one can use it as a reference or  ideas for their own build!

Interesting horn.  Looks like it would be a pretty easy build, all in all.  The baseplug is a little more involved than I usually did, but for sure not that much.  I like it.

John I was still cutting my teeth back then, I think this is either the 3rd or 4th horn that I made

Jim, for your 3rd or 4th horn, that's pretty darn good.  I'm impressed.  I doubt if my 3rd or 4th horn looked that good.
Of course, I was working off a box of horns from Frontier Products, and the Mexican horns they sold just were not that pretty and frankly, I didn't know enough about things to know much better.  Things got a lot better once I found Carl Wilburn as a source.  Then when his supply grew thin, it was terrifying.
Then I found a great source and life was oh so much better.  Used them until I hung up my belt sander.

Thanks John, Skillman is a good mentor! it was for sure the first with a turned base plug, took 4 different tries to get that correct when i got my lathe!

Jim,.... that's a darn good lookin' horn and gives me an idea of what to attempt the next time I make one.
