Original Flintlock Pistol
« on: September 05, 2020, 01:19:29 PM »
My neighbor was asked to free up the lock and make a ramrod for this flint lock pistol. A friend of his picked it up while in the service but couldn't remember where he got it, I guess he had it for around 30 years or more. We never did figure out what country it was made in. I don't remember what the cal. was but was excited getting to hold a real piece of history.

Sorry about the crummy pictures.

Thanks guys! I had narrowed it down to French or Middle East. Since I can't speak or read French or any Middle Eastern language well..................

.

IMO, it looks a lot like these ca. 1700's French Heavy Dragoon Pistols, used from the French & Indian War through the US Revolutionary War - and worth heavy money.
