Garter snakes
« on: August 18, 2022, 04:21:42 PM »
I wish our outdoor "mouser" cats would quit bringing me garter snakes. They've brought me three already this week!!! I take my dandelion root plucker and fling them back across my Li-lac hedges into the empty lot next door (which is a field of tall grass and weeds). One would almost think the cats and snakes are in competition as mousers??? I just hope they don't bring me a snake that rattles...  :Doh!  Of course, that'd be one less outdoor cat to feed... hmmm  ::)

The reduction in garter snakes will proportionately increase the population of crickets and earthworms. For mice, voles, moles and ground squirrels you need those fanged nasty Buzzy snakes or bulls or racers.

I sure don't seem to have a shortage of garter snakes, that's for sure! Garter snakes will go after mice and moles. Don't need any of those musical snakes that only plays the rattle...  :o
