New toy arrived today

I lucked into this on another ML forum. 1980s vintage Ethan Allen .36 cal sxs sold by Hoppe's - yep, that Hoppe's. As soon as the monsoons decide to stop attacking I'm going to blast my way out of a paper bag.  :laffing

Yep, Hoppe's put this out back in the 70's, along with the New Orleans Ace and a pepperbox.  I think the pepperbox was also a .36 and the Ace was a .40 something.   Maybe a .44?  I had one for a while but found it really difficult to shoot.  To aim, one had to hold it at about a 45 degree angle and hope for the best.  Really a belly gun if there ever was one.
Not a target pistol at all.

"Not a target pistol at all."        NOW you tell me! I was going to use one of those barrels next time out to be the first guy to achieve my Morgan's challenge with a handgun.

NICE!  The pepperbox and ace went through several hands, the last being Deer Creek.  They bought out Classic Arms and had the kits available for years; it looks like they only have parts left: https://www.deercreekproducts.net/store/c1/Featured.html

You could build a pepperbox from their parts if you make the grip yourself.  Go to their schematics-manuals--information page and download the schematic to see what you need to order.  You might even be able to get the manual/building instructions if you give them a call.

Yes, Kees, you're right. The Ethan Allen sxs isn't the snake eyes model, though. I think the snake was the final iteration made by the guy who owned Deer Creek at the time he acquired all the remaining guns, kits and parts from whoever owned that stuff at that time. Here's a pic of the three guns that Hoppe's sold under their name.

I forgot about the SxS Ethan Allen; I was thinking of the pepperbox.
