HEAT!
« on: July 28, 2025, 09:11:23 PM »
So how is everyone doing?  It's been hotter than I am used to!  I had some lawn mower parts on order which arrived this morning and have been installed, the poor old thing is running better than it has in a long time.  I figured to get the grass back down to a civilized height after dinner when it should/might be cooler.  Well, that part worked okay, it cooled down and then the thunderstorm hit and the yard is sopping.  I haven't looked in the basement in a couple of days but I bet it needs pumping out again also.  Enervating!  I was going to bake cookies for my Sweetie this afternoon, but was too lethargic to do even that.  Thank goodness for air conditioning!

I feel your pain! The heat index has been in the triple digits and no relief in sight. We have high heat and humidity here in south MS, but it has been over the top this year so far.

I sure do feel for you fellows.  Keeping hydrated is the most important thing you can do, and wear a hat as well.
But, here on the foggy west coast, we are in the 50's and 60's this week.
Had to put on a coat to go for my walk this AM.

Sure, rub it in. I was raised in the central valley and during some week in mid summer, I'll go stay with my cousin in the bay area (San Pablo). I'd be freezing as the central valley was 100 or more degrees and the fog in the bay area just cut to the bone. Samuel Clemens aka Mark Twain said the worse winter he ever spent was July 3rd and 4th in San Francisco. The man knew what he was talking about.
