Well a big thank you to John ( big smoke) for the donation of a horn for our up coming rendezvous raffle.

She's a beauty and I certainly will be putting a few tickets in that bucket.
 Thanks again John .
Since the person who used to solicit donations from the many BP businesses has stepped down from that job and no one wants to pick up that torch, the entire raffle has relied on donated items from club members.
Seems not many people want to part with things though so are raffles are becoming smaller.
Anyway, once more thank you John so very much..

Good to know the USPS was able to deliver the horn without driving a truck over it.  Thanks for letting me know it was delivered in good shape.
I know what you mean about pleading for plunder, as I used to call it.
When I started the West Coast Horn Fair, I decided it would be a good idea to have some prizes, so I started talking with people who had purchased horns from us.  Since we were already friends, it was much easier than talking to strangers.  And of course, people we bought from were also likely targets.
Probably my best success was at the Take Aim Against Cancer Shoot I put on in I think it was 1993 or 1994.  I was able to get two rifles donated plus a lot of other prime possibles.  Sorry to say it didn't attract as much attention as I had hoped for, but we were still able to donate a nice chunk of change to the local Cancer Society.
Whatever it is, it is still not an easy thing to send out merchandise requests and even harder to pick up the phone to ask for help.
Hope you get some good interest in the horn and sell lots of tickets.
John
