Flea market find

This was found this morning,walnut stock, nose cap,patch box hook breech tang,butt plate. I guessed it was 15/16 channel and that appears to be the case. Now what I am not shure of is the maker. I am not familiar like many are with Tompson center rifles, but thats what the patch box reminded me of.Can anyone ID this as such for shure.?
The plan would be to use a spare 15/16" USA made cva barrel I have, buy a L&R rpl to fit the current mortise, and continue to build a "swap meet special" plains rifle. It would also entail removing one and repositioning one barrel key lug.

That sure looks like a TC Hawken stock to me, and I'm sure a TC lock will fit it,.... not sure about trying to fit a CVA barrel to it though.
Might be easier to just go back with a TC barrel and lock if you can find'em. (maybe ebay,... or the "drop-ins" and RPL's from TOTW?)

According to tow, the rpl tomson plate is 5/8x5 1/16,the mortise measures 1"x 5.015 ish
Which matches to Lyman,cabela,investarms lock measurements. That must be it ,5/8 is a long way from 1". The hook on the breech plug isnt a perfect fit to the tang. I would like to see a Lyman,cabela,investarms breech end of a 15/16 barrel to compare.
Anyone happen to have a picture of that? Maybe it can be reworked to fit properly.

Dan,.... my TOTW catalog shows the same measurements for the TC RPL,.... but I'm thinking it must be a misprint of sorts, because even the small Becky's lock measures .80" (over 3/4") in width.  :rt th

Ya, I guess 5/8 is pretty small. Hopefully someone can chime in. I couldnt find my tow cat. In the garage, its still packed. When I find it I can trace a template to compare. Or call track.

Calling Track would probably be your best bet, because they don't show pictures of the RPL's in their catalog (they only provide descriptions and prices).

Having said that,.... I'm still sure a TC lock will fit your stock's mortise because of the location of the lock's bolt hole in the stock.

Well finally I will resume work on the swap meet special. I cut off the patent breech and purchased a Tc hooked breech. I drilled a c' bored the hole to thread for the new bp but discovered my combo lathe just didnt have the rigidity and the hole came out kind of egg shaped. So, I ended up taking it to a friend that hs a rel metl working lathe and he fit the bp with good secure threads.This weekend I hope to get alot more done on it , finish inletting the L& R lock, cutting a new dovetail for an underlug ( repositioned) etc.
Anyone else building up anything new?

I'm curious to see how the pan will line up with the touch hole.  I put a RPL lock on my Pennsylvania Hunter and had to move it back about 1/8 inch after I had it in the lock mortise.  Something to watch for if the breech plug is already drilled for the vent.

When you buy a new Tc breechplug, it is undrilled. So I will be adding a liner.

Last weekend I resumed work on the barrel, cutting the dovetail to accomidate the tc stock (single key versus double key),next is drawfile breech plug to match barrel and then finish inletting lock to get the bolster against the barrel flat.also need to solder in fillers into the old barrel keys and file smooth.
