« on: September 26, 2017, 02:56:27 PM »
Enclosed are images  that maybe of interest to members   , The gun is a sxs percussion fowler in 10 gauge   built in  1852-53 by Deane Adams and Deane London gun makers whose business address  was 30,King William Street and 1, New Weston  Street The gun has 31 inch Damascus barrels with London proof marks  and is also stamped with the recommended  load of 3.1/2 drms of black powder  to 1.1/2 oz of shot, it would have been used has a duck gun mostly on the river and inland marshes, This gun I have just restored  although its condition was not to bad the work was mainly cosmetic .

Sweet.
I just love the big bore doubles.
It's kinda like sighting down the flight deck of an aircraft carrier.
Thanks for the photos, Feltwad.

Feltwad,
Notice that the hammers appear to be different.  The the left one is rounded on the top and the right one is not.
You reckon that one of them was replaced somewhere in its past?
Curious.
