FCF Bag
« on: December 13, 2009, 02:55:25 PM »
I made this bag for a silent auction held to beneit our local FCF Chapter.  The fire with five logs is the symbol of the FCF.  I stitched the fire logo on the front of the bag and covered the mess on the back with another piece of leather when I did the edging.  It was a double bag with a wide full gusset in the back and a small bottom gusset on the front.

I forgot to take pictures of it before we left so here are a few not-very-good ones...

Hey RB, You been hanging out with that Beaverthing again?  :P

Just kidding. In fact, I like the bag. I especially like that little tag you put on the end of the web strap...where you attached it to the bag. That's a neat little do-dad!

I've tried my hand at making bags over the years and I was just never satisfied with the finished look...... That is all but one bag.

I have one haversack / bag that passed the very strenuous Uncle Russ test about 30 or so years ago, and I've managed to hang onto it until now. (I will get some pictures of it as soon as I can dig it out, and have a couple of drinks, so that I stand up to the criticism that's sure to come from you more accomplished fellas.....LOL)

Uncle Russ...
It's the many things we don't do that totally sets us apart.

Good work there.  I'll have to show off some of my bags as soon as I buy a new camera.

Wow! I had forgotten about this bag. Wish I had an updated picture to show. I ended up adding the chapter name to it. I'll try to get an updated photo next time I see the owner.
