43 Degree Temperature Change Today
« on: July 07, 2020, 07:44:46 AM »
It's going to get hot today; 104 degrees... Right now it's 61...

The older I get the less heat I can tolerate... On the other side of the coin, I don't like going from 50+ degree temperatures to 20 degrees or lower temperatures either.

Well, at least one doesn't have to shovel heat...  :shake

Storm fronts have been moving through our area this week. High will only be 84, but by Sunday it will be back well over 100, and for awhile too.

Joe, is the humidity very high in Nebraska?

Well, at least one doesn't have to shovel heat...  :shake
I lived in Michigan for a few years and quickly got tired of the cold, snow and ice. When we decided to move back to Arizona our friends asked, "Why do you want to move there, it's so hot?"  My answer was, "You don't have to shovel it of the sidewalk."

This week I'm having my doubts after an 80 low and 115 high. Only 35 degree swing, but it's the lows that make it miserable. For the next couple months as the lows creep up to 90 it gets tiresome. Tomorrow morning I'm hoping to go to the range. Shooting starts are 7am and it will already be above 80 and close to 90 by 8am.

Before summer's over I'll have to keep my lead balls in a bucket of ice water so's they don't melt before I can stuff 'em down the barrel.  :P
The trouble with doing things right the first time is no one realizes how hard it was.
Often, however, the following is more applicable.
I stand corrected, a position somewhat painful to achieve, but once there, is quite satisfying.

Joe, I grew up in Chicago back in the 50's to the early70's when I joined the corps, got real tired of the unbearable humidity in the summer and the knee deep snow and sub zero temps in winter, 4 eyars in the corps in various parts of the world then 20 years in So Cal, summer temps above 100 for weeks at a time, moved up here to the Pacific Northwest in 97, best place I've lived in my life, summer temps are usually high 70's, we do get a couple of weeks in Aug in the 90's, yea it does rain here but our average rain fall amount is way less than most of the mid west, just that it spits and drizzles for weeks at a tome occasionally, in the 23 years we've been here I have only had to shovel snow 4 times, better than 4 times a day when i was a kid in Chicago! plus the Mountains and forets here are a huge plus and the ocean in 60 miles away, win, win, win!

It's not as bad in my area of the northwest corner, but below me and to the east it gets bad.

Jim, I know what you mean about the Chicago humidity, it weren't much different where I grew up in the northwest corner of Ohio...

LOL!!! Seems like I gravitate to northwest corners of States...LOL!!!
