what do YOU carry in your fowler bag?
When I portray a fowler I usually carry
birds in my fowler bag if I am lucky.
I also make use of pockets on period clothes to carry the following...
This holds three flints, tow for cleaning, turnscrew, a worm scour and load puller.
One or two of these fit very nicely in the pocket for shot.
A small belt pouch such as this design that dates to the early 18th century carries tow, felt wads and any other junk I may need.
I am in the process of making a horn flask but I currently use this Germanic styled antler one I made for a rifle some time ago.
I want to make a bunch of these shot/powder chargers. A pocketful or two of these along with the flint and tool wallet and a pocket of tow is all that's needed for a good hunt. These were ordered from England by the better off colonists in America along with their fowling guns.
