Here is my first attempt at leggings and moccasins
leggings are split elk hide and moccasins are tanned elk hide. What do you think?

They need some patina. Blood, guts, dirt, grease, some stew, bear grease, coffee...

What can i condition the leggings & moccs with to make them water proof. I was thinking about rubbing some lard in them but figured i better ask the experts first.

Anything ya put on the leggings will just make 'em greasy and uncomfortable. On the Moc's I use Trappers blend mink oil from Track of the Wolf. won't make 'em water proof, but it will slow down the soakin thats to come! Someone once wrote in the 18th century that moccasins were an elegent way of going barefoot!
