There's something about reloading for and shooting a 109-year-old Winchester 1892 carbine.

JB67, are you reloading hat '92 with black powder?

In the scheme of all things firearms, flintlock long guns are my faves, further driven down to smoothbores only.

Followed by more "modern" black powder breech loaded rifles (Sharps and Rollers) that employ paper patched bullet cartridges.

Lastly, cartridge rifles, pistols, and revolvers, all powered by that white devil dust crap, and only for modern self defense.

YMMV.  8)  :*:

I have, but I also have smokeless loads.
All men have fears. The brave put down their fears and go forward, sometimes to death but always to victory.
