Remington 1858 Double Action Revolver

I never knew until this morning that the 1858 Remington Revolver was also made in Double Action, and saw service in the Civil War...

Hank I didn't save the site that mentioned this - I just went ahead and started searching for information on this and found the above... There's more info out there, but this link above looked like the best source.

I did read that Remington didn't designate the DA's with a different ID serial number - they just kept using continuous serial numbers be it Single Action or Double Action when they came off the line.

I'd really like to see the rear of the cylinder - and the inner frame rear cylinder wall, and see how it compares to the modern day Double Action Revolvers.
