Rode in them quite a bit working on the Tongass N.F.  Had some good Vietnam era pilots who were very conscientious and safety minded.  I never had to overnight out in the field, but that's because they did their best to get to us and lift us back to the crummy.  We had a rule that you didn't get the chopper unless the hike in to your work area was over two hours.
