You can get a cheap bore scope off ebay that will plug into your smartphone, they take pretty good pictures and will tell you what you have.

I just took this picture with my el-cheapo bore scope of a TC Hawken Breech.

Teslong makes a good borescope compatible  with PCs, newer tablets and cellphones. $59.95 plus shipping  on Amazon  and Ebay. I'm  very happy with  mine.
I'm  not  H/C or P/C or even a particularly  good shot but I have a hell of a good time!

Thank you all for all the replies!  :yessir: I've been trying to limit my confuser time or i will spend all day on the stupid machine.  didn't get on this, my favorite site because of that, and i apologize to all for that.  I'm going to try the tinfoil trick from Fyrstyk when I next get the chance to take the rifle down from its resting place.

So Kees, have you ever found out if this new T/C Hawken is a QLA barrel?

Not yet.  Still deciding how to look down the barrel.  I may plunk down some cash for a bore scope.  I haven't found any of the little fishing lights which I have seen lots of suggestions for, but I haven't been looking that seriously either so it's my own fault.  Thanks for asking, though.

Kees, if you're close to a gun shop I bet you could just ask them to shine a bore light down the barrel - and I bet they'd be happy to do it.  :shake

I use it on on my ramrod hole when I think everything is OK but the ramrod won't go down. On different guns I have found a underlug a little into the hole, a lock bolt and lately my entry pipe was't inletted quite deep enough.
