Ya know panic buying is my favorite way to shop. 

 any way, I thought about this for awhile and decided I am not going to run to the BP store and buy all they have but instead I am going to learn how to make BP in my kitchen, well shop at least.
 watched a bunch of you tubers make the stuff in ten minutes and thought " well that looks easy" .
 even watched a guy in period dress make it on a stump with a hatchet and handkerchief.  what could be easier right!

 went to the hardware store and bought sulfur and stump remover and made my own Fir charcoal.   miserable failure x 3 
  So I went ahead and ordered some real chemicals from a pyro place and we'll see if i can avoid blowing myself up.
 I figure its a good skill to have for future events.

I'm throwing my hat in the ring, too, and will venture into the making of holy black.  I'll start small with the "coffee filter" method but hope to like the product enuf to get into ball milling.

Well, there are still Scheutzen and Swiss, so no need to panic.  DuPont used to be the big name in the US for the holy black.  Then it went away, if I recall because the plant blew up although I may be mistaken.  Anyway, that opened the way for Goex to take over the DuPont assets.  So now Goex is closed and up for sale.  There have been many other black powder companies which are not around anymore - have you found any Elephant powder lately?  Anyway, the world has not ended and if necessary, we can make our own or maybe even get powder for fireworks (a poor second choice, I know!) like the Boston Marathon bombers did.

I guess we'll just have to see where the cards fall.

I do expect we'll see some choices somewhere down the road. I believe black powder shooting is rather popular across the pond, so it's very possible we could see a door open here in the USA for their powder suppliers to seize the market on the real stuff,,, perhaps even open a supply outlet here in the States... And, as said above,,, some of us may resort to making our own (though I'm not quite there yet). However, to conserve what I have - for when I need it, I expect I'll be shooting the ol' Rimfire .22lr more often than in the past. And that's fun too!!!

Hopefully someone with black powder passion will take over the Goex plant. 

However, what I see looming on the distant (near or far?) horizon is a Fed ban on shipping black powder, or making shipping so incredibly expensive that it could reach upwards of $70/lb - or LOTS more, considering inflation!
