Have at it buddy. Glad you had fun , and hope you have a chance to do it again. By the way, did you check that one shot several times? Boy that's real close to being a 10. I know, it's for fun, but don't short change yourself.

@No Powder

I did look at it over and over. Being the person I am I chose the lesser score.  It did break the line ever so slightly, but IMHO not enough to take advantage of it.  It is for fun and I did better this month than last, so all is good.

Nessmuk, can I still get in on this or is it too late?

Walt, I've been there and done that. But that overlay has made a believer out of me. Your statement says a lot about the integrity of this bunch of shooters. And I'm glad to be in this group.

I'm not @Nessmuk, but the monthly goes to the end of the month, so you have a couple of days left.

My congratulations to Dave also!  :yessir: I managed to get out to the range today, albeit that I left my glasses at home.  :Doh!  Nothing to get excited about, but hey, next time better!

I don't think I could have hit the paper without my glasses. So without glasses, looks good to me. Did you forget the bee target, or were they too hard to see without specs?

Here is a question.  I am leaving for my cabin in Vermont Sunday morning early.  I'd like to do the July shoot while up there.  I assume the B-8 target for the regular monthly shoot so I have that, and I have my revolutionary challenge target but any chance you have the Rondy target picked for July out so I can print it tomorrow and take that with me as well?  Don't sweat it if you can't.  Thanks. :hairy :bigsmile:

Well Tom, my problem (among many, but that's another story) is that my eyes are just good enough to pass the BMV eye test but not that great otherwise.  I need low-power readers for books and such and long distance isn't great either.  I usually do fine w/o glasses unless I'm trying to focus on putting my front sight on a black circle at 25 yards or a scaled down shingle at 100!

I had to leave for home by 1030, and it was 1020 by the time I had shot the Morgan Challenge and the monthly target (I'm slow!) so I didn't get to the hornets.

Speaking of hornets, back in my Navy days (1962-65) we often operated with the USS Hornet (CV-12).  In around 1987 or 8 I was going to the  Bremerton, Washington Navy base to pick up some uniforms.  I was surprised when I came around a curve in the road and it ran right in front of her, mothballed with a ton of other ships.  It did my heart good to see her again!

I knew you had a good reason, or you would have shot it. And you're no slower than I am. When I go to the range, I try to be shooting by 10:00 AM. Until I shoot the long range, the B8, and the rondy, it's usually about 1:00 PM. Then it's time to start cleaning. ;banghead;
I bet you were surprised. I believe I would have been too.

It takes me a good 2 1/2 to 3 hrs to shoot too.
 What's the rush I figure .  Swab after shots, have a drink of soda etc.
 Usually someone there comes over to see the flinter..
  Then they go back and rip off a hundred rounds and go home.

Makes you wonder if their interest in the flintlock is fake. I know there are a few others shooting smokepoles where I shoot. I find patches that aren't mine. But there is never anyone there shooting one when I go. People talk about owning , hunting, and shooting them, but where are they? I don't get it. I'm thinking maybe I don't want to see what their guns look like anyway. Might make me cry.

2 more days to shoot post, friends.

July's "Fun" target will be the Dreaded Mike Fink, kinda traditional for July.

 I'm getting a lot of rain up here in the Adirondack mountains, been rained out on 4 shooting attempts. I managed to shoot both targets on Tuesday but got soaked to the skin on the walk back to camp. I ironed the targets dry and have them weighted between glass for now. I'll post them later today.
I'm  not  H/C or P/C or even a particularly  good shot but I have a hell of a good time!

Dedicated to the TMA.

Thanks.  I'll print Mike off and get my shooting in.  I'll be offline for the next couple of weeks as we are headed for the off the grid Vermont cabin.   :bigsmile:
