Kees,
Welcome to my world.  You sound like I do.
I have started selling off some of my collection of powder horns.  I am probably down to 40 by now.  I only have one horn for sale right now, a nice banded applied tip by Steve Vance.  It is listed here on our trade blanket.  Sure would like to part with it even if it is a really nice horn.
I have already culled my gun collection down quite a bit, but I just cannot bear to see the revolvers go, both B/P and cartridge.  Maybe one day.  Then there are knives, oh boy, what a quandary.

I'm looking at the various guns I have accumulated and thinking of thinning the herd.  None of the three kids are interested in shooting anymore.  Lately I only shoot the Shenandoah Rifle when I go out.  I am NOT getting any younger.  So, I am thinking of selling off the Hodgepodge rifle (flintlock) and the restocked CVA Bobcat (cap lock), plus some unmentionables.  I'll probably et rid of some molds and other stuff also; I just have to figure out what I want to keep.  I'll post photos and such in the Trade Blanket forum later, if anyone is interested.

We put a stairlift in our house years ago, for the day when one of us could not negotiate the stairs anymore.  It sat unused for several years, then Carolyn started using it to get upstairs, and now she rides both ways.  I'm very glad we made the investment back then!  Something to consider.

https://www.ncoa.org/product-resources/mobility/best-stair-lifts/  Ours is the Harmar.  Only problem we've had is that a couple of weeks ago the batteries died.  With the price of the service call, plus the batteries themselves, it cost over $500 to get us going again.  However, the service tech drove over 100 miles from Columbus to our little village so it's not totally outrageous.  I watched what he did so next time I can maybe get the batteries and replace them myself!

Hi Tommy, good to see you back!  I know all about your Heritage Model H&A Underhammer.  I kinda wish I had it, and you had a feather up your nose.... then we would BOTH be tickled!   :laffing :laffing :laffing

I sold mine 20+ years ago, and the proceeds went to a local family (Thorne Bay, Alaska) who lost a child in a car accident down in Seattle so it went for a good cause.

Hope you are doing well.  I apologize for not getting in contact earlier, and hope all is well (or as well as can be) with you!

Hanshi Hang in there old cuss. Life can be rough but the alternative is a bit grim. You can only stare at grass roots so long before it could get boring. I'll have a long talk with the BIG boss upstairs for you and your better half tonight. Stay strong ol' hoss. Mommy needs you to help her. It'll just take a little longer is all.

If it loads from the muzzle and uses black powder, it's good.  I wonder if the other forums would also disqualify a flintlock inline from the early 1800s?  I know that such a beast was made....

My first m/l rifle was a Hopkins & Allen underhammer from Numrich Arms, bought in 1968.  Kinda wish I still had it!

Sorry you no longer have that underhammer as I've lost a few that I cry over at night...well, not actually cry.  I resisted all temptation and was amazingly able to retain my first (also) muzzleloader, an H&A Heritage model .45 underhammer I bought in the mid 1960s.  They are excellent percussion rifles and mine got LOTS of use in the woods.

Well, on July 7th I had a knee replacement and returned home on the same day.  Some 3 days or so of my surgery my wife fell and BROKE HER PELVIS IN TWO PLACES!  She was in the hospital over two weeks.  Imagine me trying to do everything to care for myself!  Yes, I tend to be a bit...oh, wrongly coordinated.

Three pelvis breaks and they HAVE to do surgery, two and, with help and care, it heals normally.  She does have an electric wheelchair and we have a rollator.  My bedroom is upstairs so I had to sleep on the couch for weeks.  Just recently got the go-ahead to return, with much care, to my own bed.  My wife has been sleeping in her recliner not far from the couch.

Still doing my exercises & icing but still very limited.  Doctor told me it would take about a year for full healing.  I think life is trying to tell me I should be a farmer.  Otherwise why do I keep getting these loads of fertilizer?  :yessir:
