Purty neat!

I use to take the family over to Ft. Laramie when the American Mountain Men and the Civil War period reenactments would be going on. Was disappointed to hear (first hand) on a visit there some years back that they weren't doing this anymore because of government cut backs (not under the current administration - but the previous one) so I hope they come back to Ft. Laramie. Those groups were fantastic because of the hands on history they offered the public. And I will add - the public loved it!!!

Thanks Rolling B
That's unfortunate Ohio Joe
I love to actually see things hands on
It's the only way I've ever learned anything
Fort Sisseton is a great site
It was a great weekend I had never done anything like that
And my son is very excited to part of that
Now I just have to find some civil war gear
If anyone knows of some up for sale let me know

I've got a waist belt with leather cap box,.... AND a cartridge box with shoulder sling (cartridge box has the 2 tin boxes for cartridges inside).
I think they are US made (not imports) as the cap box has a "maker's mark" on the backside, and the cartridge box is a complex piece of quality leather-work (that I would never attempt to replicate :o).

Only thing missing with this pair, is the buckle for the waist belt. (which can be found online at various Civil War sutler stores)

I was going to take them to the Chadron rendezvous and donate them to their "rendezvous auction",.... but if you're there, you can have them, and I'll find something else to donate to their auction.  :bl th up

That sounds fantastic
If it's alright maybe I'll find something to donate in their place so you don't have to
Or I'll buy them from you whatever works

Jake,.... if those are the sort of Civil War things you're lookin' for, you can have'em at no charge.  :)
I've got an old flint CVA Mountain rifle .50, with pristine bore, that I can donate to their auction instead.  :bl th up
