Thanks Rolling B
That's unfortunate Ohio Joe
I love to actually see things hands on
It's the only way I've ever learned anything
Fort Sisseton is a great site
It was a great weekend I had never done anything like that
And my son is very excited to part of that
Now I just have to find some civil war gear
If anyone knows of some up for sale let me know
I've got a waist belt with leather cap box,.... AND a cartridge box with shoulder sling (cartridge box has the 2 tin boxes for cartridges inside).
I think they are US made (not imports) as the cap box has a "maker's mark" on the backside, and the cartridge box is a complex piece of quality leather-work (that I would never attempt to replicate

).
Only thing missing with this pair, is the buckle for the waist belt. (which can be found online at various Civil War sutler stores)
I was going to take them to the Chadron rendezvous and donate them to their "rendezvous auction",.... but if you're there, you can have them, and I'll find something else to donate to their auction.
