Dry firing a caplock

OK guys, I want to practice a little more, since the comp. season is getting close.  any suggestions for dry firing a caplock?    I know how to do it with flint, but dont have a flint guns.

I used to tie a stout piece of leather over the nipple.  Never seemed to do any damage.  Nipples are easy to replace anyway.

The faucet washer is good and I have also used those little rubber caps that cap off vacume ports on carburators.You can get those at tha hardwhear store.

I use a piece of clear air hose for an aquarium.Mine I got from my Aunt who does in home kidney dialysis.Same hose for a different reason.
 If you have a second hand store around you,like St.Vincent dePaul or Salvation Army,check them out .Our local second hand stores always have used fish tank air hose.It is cheap even if you buy it new at the hardware or big box store.Cut it long enough so the hammer don't hit the nipple and a foot of it will last for a long time.

If your rifle has a double set trigger, just set and snap.  No need to cock the hammer.   I dry fire my T-C's a lot.  No damage yet in over thirty years.

a focet washer works great becouse it  will not fill the nipple with rubber  or leather . just slide her over the niple and practice all you like
