I just picked up another halfstock at a local auction and the barrel is signed D. B. Siegfried. The barrel is also marked Johnston gun works Pittsburg. Has anybody got any information on this gunsmith.
Thanks in advance for any information

I found out who D. B. Sigfried was, I went to Dixons muzzle loading Shop and they looked him up for me he was a barrel maker here in Berks Couty PA. They said the rifle was made by Johnston Gun works. It is .30 caliber and that is the smallest caliber in my muzzle collection.

Do you know where the Pittsburg is? The one in Pa has an H on the end. Perhaps that's an olde time spelling?

You are correct it does have an H on the end, it was my error in typing. Thanks for pointing that out.
