Geesh! And to think I've actually  kicked several out of my yard, back into the lake, when I lived in Shelton WA, on the other side of the mountain.
Mama Bear has even chased 'em off our back deck, back down into the lake with a broom....they cut-down all her little Cherry Trees, just left a "nubbin" so she was after 'em all the time.

I've seen a lot of Beavers, and likely seen a lot of the same one, but I have never seen one that was aggressive.
For the most part they were rather timid, or shy, and just hurried off out of the way.
I have always respected them, had something in my hand, or kicked them with a boot, but I never dreamed of something like this.

Betcha I have lot more respect for those fellas after reading this!

Uncle Russ...
It's the many things we don't do that totally sets us apart.

Well the detail of the video was lacking, but I
guess the guy had his hands full!

But things are also a little different over there.

For instance, we look at the 'Where's Waldo'
books.   In Russia - Waldo finds you!!!

I've had a few "snared" beavers try to use their teeth on me, but never one that I didn't have ahold of in some way.
The same goes for coyotes, coons, mink, and badgers.

Animals, even in petting zoos, do not think like humans, or recognize friend from foe. No matter how much nature tv/ Disney would depict the opposite. All that remains is to educate the uneducated. Ask the Grizzly hugger and his poor girl friend.

I might be more careful fly fishing beaver ponds now.

Never read stories of the MM/trappers being attacked by beavers. Have you?

I haven't seen this in any of my reading, but I wouldn't doubt it has happened.  Maybe not considred noteworthy enough to record.

maybe the beavers are getting as feed up as the rest of us , LOL
the thing with the video is  that we dont know  what happened prior .
looks to me like the guy was  following the beaver  to closely  and maybe for to long then tried to get in front of  him .
maybe also there was no water close at hand for the beaver to escape .

I have seen beaver here that were cutting cross country . thus some ways from even a small creek .

as was said , there is a big difference between  wild animals and  petting zoo  animals / even a chipmunk will  put up a fight if  it thinks its cornered .

Beaver stoops to larceny from hunter...!!!

http://outthere.bangordailynews.com/2013/11/19/hunting/beaver-steals-hunters-rifle/

Quote
“I had to go to the bathroom but I had no toilet paper,” he explained.

Luckily, he was hunting right across the road from his family’s St. David home.

“I walked out of the woods and got on my four-wheeler and I went home,” he said.

Another thing he did (which, for the record, we’ve got to advise everyone to avoid): He leaned his Remington .30-06 rifle against the tree, next to the chair he had been sitting in.

“And when I got back, I couldn’t find the gun,” he said.

Nathan said he stood up from his chair and began looking around in the woods. Then things got interesting in a hurry.

Nature had called again … in a different way.

“There was a stream that was running about 100 feet away from me. I look, and there’s a beaver hauling that gun into the water,” he said.
