« on: April 11, 2013, 07:10:25 PM »
A .570 cal. "Trekker" gun in progress for a client here in Las Vegas.  He wants something light to pack but with some knock down power.  It has an L.C.  Smith 26" bbl. from Numrich co.  Chamber's late Ketland flintlock, A nice block of Oregon maple from Cecil Fredi in LV, iron trim--mostly by me except for pipes & butt plate. Target weight is 4 pounds !  with sling.   ....Tom

I guess I can't help myself.  I was born to do this---That's just the way my circuits are wired.  I WAS a classical oil painter in another life.  I just need to create---Something!  The French painter Auguste' Renoir Had arthritis so bad at age 92 his assistant tied the brushes to his hand !! Quit is not an option.  My wife thinks crazy doesn't begin to describe my life.   Oh well--some more pic's   ....Tom

Finish is going to be a medium dark brown with red undertones.  I've used it for years & it really makes curly maple POP !!!
