Well I spent some time doing further reading, crossreferencing and ends up the first run was built to the blueprint made of Carsons Hawken that is in Sante Fe NM. Right down to the bore size of .53, the second run was rifled to .54. Other traits of the first run, was a slant breech and the toe plate was dovetailed into the bottom of the butt plate.
So, I made me a plug gage to .5263 and took that with me figuring it would barely fit in a .53 bore. Well, it barely fit, in fact it would have had to been forced a little but I could tell it wanted to go.( I didnt force it) All the other signs of the first run where there so it came home with me today. Now to get a .520 mold. Here it is.

Did more shooting with the Uberti Hawken. It came in real nice. I am using Hornady .520 rb, 70 g FF Goex, .010 oxyoke pre lubed with  wonderlube1000. Had a nice 61 deg. Sun. morning  session. I did not have a needle file with to make my notch deeper in the rear site, but the group followed the correction of drifting the sites.Next time I will finalize it and put the poi on the bulls eye.

Dan,  You ever feel the need to move on from that rifle, please, give me a call.  I could certainly be interested.
