Pedersoli Remington Pattern "Target"
« on: May 02, 2015, 01:37:41 PM »
Just bought a nib Pedersoli Remington Pattern "Target" .44 revolver for almost half the price of new. I had an opportunity to shoot an R&S revolver a few years ago and was amazed at the accuracy it had. Hopefully this will be the same. Just waiting for it to arrive. Now to cast up some more .454s......

I only had one quick chance to shoot it. Shot really well. Trying to get back out in the next 4 days. I will give a report then.

Finally got out and shot it again today. Was not going to go as it was 95 this afternoon but went anyway.
Had to adjust the hammer spring tension some to strike the caps a little harder as not all the caps went off when I was cleaning out the nipples.

Loaded the cylinder with 25grs FFFg, felt wad and some lube. Shot the target at 25yds. First 6 rounds grouped 2 3/4" x 1". Second string grouped 1 1/4". I thought this was pretty good. I played with filler, no filler, lube over and under the ball which gave me varied groups from 2"-4".

Overall I am impressed with it so far. All the tolerances and timing are pretty tight on it and the hand aligns the cylinder exactly in line with the cone and loading plunger.

It started getting too hot as the benches were in the sun and decided to go home and try it again on a cooler day to see what load combination and seating depth works the best.
