Well, i'm back after a long layoff. I got some injuries and wasn't sure i'd ever shoot again. I didn't get to hunt this year at all, As a matter of fact I sold all my guns thinking I didn't need them anymore.

I healed up better than I was expecting. At least better than I thought my 73 year old body was going to. So, I started looking around for a gun to hunt with, and maybe some postal shoots. I found a clean Renegade a friend had. It's got a brand new Sharon barrel, .54, 29" with a 1-72 twist. Perfect for the PRB that I love so much. All it needs is a new ramrod made up for the longer barrel, and some stock sights. It's got FO sights now. They have to go.

Here she is.

It's a good gun and probably one of the better shooters TC made. Glad your mending.

Thank you guys.

I've never owned a Sharon barrel. I hope it's as good as most say it is.

Great to see that you are healing well!!
If need be, you are welcome to borrow my CVA "Hawken" that I bought from Frontier Gander. It is a .50 cal. I'm not too far away, over in Golden, CO. Just give me a yell if you want to use it.

I never bought this gun.

I bought a Jonathan Browning Mountain Rifle instead. I should receive it any day now.

I don't have a camera, but these are the sellers pictures. I plan to refinish it.

What stain and finish are you looking to use to refinish the rifle, Pete?

I'm not sure yet. I'd like the wood a darker color. Something similar to this gun. I know it's maple, and mine is walnut, but i'd still like the color if it's possible.

Now, THAT is a BIG animal! :bl th up

I saw the results of an intimate relationship between a Moose and a Subaru Outback up near Estes Park. Not a nice sight! A 900 lb Moose can do some damage.
