One thing's for sure, buckskinners have a lot of $$ wrapped into their camp set up.

LeRoy Sanders (Ft. Downing Trading Co.) nabbed a crapwad visitor stealing a pistol from his tent store a couple years ago down Yadkinville, NC way at the SEPR. It didn't take long to get the thief out of camp. I'd have called the police if it was me.

I'd think it was a camp of deaf and blind men if nobody heard or saw a tipi being taken down & carted off.

Just a note to the ABC Channel 8 EYEWITNESS NEWS writers and staff at KLKN-TV in Lincoln, NE. It's "rendezvous" not "rendevouz." Misspelled words look amateurish on a big time TV news program. :/

I'm thinking it was probably someone that set up early and wasn't around when the theft happened.

What a shame. This hobby becomes so much a part of a person's life, their family, their friends,,, what a shame. Its not easy putting a camp together and to have this happen is just disheartening. I hope they find those responsible, and I hope the victims get their property back. Nothing worse then a thief.

got to watch your stuff, otherwise it grows legs and walks out from under you.

Been visiting the santa fe trail rendezvous for years now and never once heard of anything being stolen, especially $5000 worth which IMO, the owner probably exaggerated. Especially since no arms were taken.

A number of years ago a couple of rifles were taken off of a display rack at the front of a camp that was located at the rear of the encampment. The camp and close neighboring camps were unattended at the time.
