Interesting Picture
« on: August 13, 2017, 07:56:49 PM »
You may have to enlarge this picture to see this, but where I have the white circle (left side of picture) - doesn't that shadow look like the figure of a person?

I'm not sure who took this picture?  I saw it on Facebook and copied it a few days after the Chadron Fur Traded Days Rendezvous had ended. Just noticed this the other day when I was looking at pictures.

Now my guess is if it is other worldly, well then it just proves traditional muzzle loading holds an interest in the shadow world in the here after.  :*:

Looks like maybe a scarecrow or a hung and dessicated corpse.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

You'd be hard pressed to find someone from these western Rendezvous who didn't blow down their barrel after they've taken their shot. I guess we just know when we pull the trigger if our rifle went off or not... The majority of us really have no use for the NMLRA and their shooting safety rules as they come from an organization who no longer has any understanding of traditional muzzle loading what-so-ever...

tube blowing is actually a SAFE and SMART practice.   :bl th up

once again, in this overly litigious society, we need to protect the stupid people at the expense of the smart ones.   :Doh!

The "Political Correctness" of blowing down the barrel of a Muzzleloader came to a high pitch about eight, maybe ten years ago.
To satisfy bystanders and others who felt such an act was nothing short of barbarism bordering on suicide and threatening evil spirits, a nifty little blow tube came on the market, and I bought a bunch just to hand out to my friends.....mainly so they would have one should they find themselves ever 'needing' one.

In comparison to the blow tubes used in BPCR, these little guys are nothing short of a joke.
However, their occasional use on the line seemed to please the masses and the screams of death to the barrel blowers have somewhat subsided.

I still keep a couple in my Range Box, just in case.
