I have the same. Love it. Started with it when I first geared up. Guess I was spoilt from the beginning.

I added a piece of brass rod I use to flick spent caps out of the hammer cup when they get stuck in there. Took 4 or 5 inches of 1/8" brass rod and bent a loop to go through the attached ring and sharpened the straight end. Now when I see a stuck cap it's right handy for flippin it out.

The rod is also useful when filling the capper. Much better than my fat fingers for turnin' caps so the hole is up.
The trouble with doing things right the first time is no one realizes how hard it was.
Often, however, the following is more applicable.
I stand corrected, a position somewhat painful to achieve, but once there, is quite satisfying.

That's a good one for sure Hawken.

I normally just make my own out'a leather with a hole punch, however I still have three of those straight line cappers that'll hold 14 or 17 caps, (can't recall for sure as I haven't used them in such a long time). In any event, whatever works best for the shooter.  :hairy

I was using a straight line and that dude is a PITA to use; especially trying to refill it!  This one's lot easier to fill...and use! :toast

Great item from Tedd Cash.  I also use his straight line musket capper as well.
Instead of the rifle capper, I have been using the pistol or universal capper.  It holds a full tin of #11 caps.
Mine stopped looking that good about maybe 25 years ago, though.
Regardless how shiny it is, it works great.
Soon after I started using it, I decided I needed a better way to carry it, so I designed a leather capper holster for it.  Put it on your belt or on the strap of the bag.  Available from October Country, http://www.octobercountry.com/cash-capper-carrier/  Under 10.00 plus postage.  Good item.

I also have one of those from some point in the dim recesses of the past.  It hasn't been used since the boy left the house last year, since I've been shooting flint exclusively after making the BIG mistake of selling my H&A Heritage model underhammer rifle! :Doh!

IMHO, this Tedd Cash tool for cappers is head & shoulders above the straight in-line cappers, or whatever else is in second place.

I have also used a in-line for my Musket Caps, but like Joe, I find a leather disk, properly punched and cut, beats the in-line to pieces.

My old, fat, and often very fumbly fingers, have found that the Musket Cap can be handled fairly easy just by picking 'em up out of a small inside pouch on the shooting bag....I know I didn't put that little there pouch for that, but it works just fine.
Doing this same thing with a #11, and I loose a lot more than I actually shoot.  :Doh!

I Love my flinters for a lot of different reasons, but I hope I NEVER have to make the choice between my flinters and my cappers.
You tell me, just what would a Mother do if she was ever faced with getting rid of one her babies?....see what I mean?
